Be Inspired by Carol

Carol Poole is no stranger to pushing her limits. From abseiling and skydiving to firewalking and wing walking she has taken on daring challenges to raise vital funds for Cransley Hospice Trust.

Her fundraising journey began in 2008 after witnessing the exceptional care given to her friend Al Tait, who married while in the hospice’s care. The hospice later cared for another close friend, Steven Baigent, further strengthening Carol’s connection. “The care provided is phenomenal,” she says. “It’s never hurried – dignity and comfort always come first.”

Since 2018, Carol has been taking on Crasley Hospice Trust Challenges.

Skydiving at 70 was a highlight. “It was peaceful and perfect up there,” she recalls. “Once people donate, you can’t let them down – adrenaline kicks in and you just do it!”

In 2025 Carol bravely completed the Wing Walk – and not content with having ticked it off her list, she’s signed up again to do another one in 2026! Not only that, but this time she’ll be really testing her nerve, as she’s undertaking an acrobatic flight with loops and rolls! Wow. We wish her all the best in this incredible challenge.

For Carol, the greatest reward is knowing the money raised helps others. Her story is a powerful reminder that with determination and community spirit, anyone can make a lasting difference.

“Cransley is a huge part of my life,” she says. “It’s something the whole community needs, and I want to help ensure it’s there for others in the future.”

Like Carol, you can turn courage into care. You can turn miles into memories. You can turn one extraordinary day into lasting impact.

Sign up, step up, and help Cransley Hospice Trust continue providing specialist care and comfort when it matters most.
