Jail & Bail

Tesco | Friday 31 July 2026

Jail & Bail is back!

Mark your calendars as Cransley Hospice Trust is bringing back one of our most fun and fundraising-filled events of the year, Jail & Bail 2026, and we’re on the lookout for our next recruitment of “prisoners”!

Do you know someone who deserves to be locked up – for a good cause, of course?

It could be a colleague who you sit beside everyday that just talks TOO much, a competitive friend, a husband that always forgets to hang the washing out or a boss that avoids making the office cups of tea! Well… now is the perfect time to nominate them.

How it works

On 31st July 2026, our brave nominees will be “arrested” and taken into custody. Their mission? To raise £999 in bail to secure their release. No bail… no freedom! (Well, until the end of the day at least!)

They’ll call on friends, family and colleagues to donate, share their fundraising pages and help them reach their target, all while having plenty of laughs along the way.

Jail & Bail Nomination Form

Do you know a local scoundrel that needs locking up? The only chance of release is to raise £999 in bail! Nominate the scamp (or hand yourself in) to be convicted and locked up at this unique hearing on Friday 31st July 2026.

Meet our ‘Prisoners’

Beat Route Radio Ian, has officially been thrown “behind bars” and now needs to raise £999 to secure his release!

After running circles around the police car in handcuffs and attempting to make a dramatic escape, PC Bangs had seen enough and marched him straight into the cell.

Locked up for playing far too many 80s classics on air, we’re sure plenty of loyal listeners will already be missing those iconic tunes!

Community Champion, Julie, was having a terrific time trotting around Tesco before PC Bangs caught up with her!

Taking advantage of the Tesco employee discount may sound harmless to some… but apparently, it’s now a ‘criminal offence.’

Julie is currently out on bail and must raise £999 to secure her release, all while supporting local hospice care for patients and families in North-Northamptonshire.

Cunning Co-op Kimberley wasn’t afraid of being arrested… but she didn’t realise that selective hearing and refusing to do as she’s told in store could land her in trouble.

Kimberley is currently out on bail until 31st July, before she’s officially locked up for our big fun fundraising event at Tesco Kettering!

Now the race is on… can she raise enough to escape jail before Tesco’s Julie?

Matt is usually full of smiles, positivity, and enough enthusiasm to brighten even the gloomiest Monday morning. Unfortunately, not everyone appreciated it…

After receiving multiple complaints for ‘aggravated cheerfulness’, Matt was formally reported to the authorities. Witnesses claim he was caught encouraging colleagues, spreading good vibes, and maintaining an outrageously positive attitude throughout the working day.

The verdict? Guilty as charged. 😅

He’s now been released on bail but must raise £999 to secure his freedom and avoid being sentenced to a lifetime of forced frowning.

Steve has always taken pride in his wardrobe. Whether it’s a bold shirt, a sharp jacket, or an outfit that turns heads, he’s never been afraid to showcase his unique sense of style. Unfortunately, not everyone was impressed…

After being spotted repeatedly committing what can only be described as ‘serious crimes against fashion’, Steve was swiftly reported to the authorities.

As we all know, fashion offences are taken very seriously, and according to the Fashion Police, the less style you have, the more severe the sentence.

Help Steve raise £999 in bail to secure his freedom and avoid a lengthy sentence in the style slammer.
