For All. For Now. Forever. This is Hospice Care.

At Cransley Hospice Trust, it is often the smallest moments that stay with families the longest.

A warm cup of tea shared in silence.
A reassuring hand, held at just the right time.
A gentle moment of laughter when it feels as though the world has grown unbearably heavy.

These are the moments that define hospice care. They are quiet, tender, and profoundly human. And they are why Cransley Hospice Trust is proud to stand alongside hospices across the UK in the latest round of the national This is Hospice Care campaign, running from the 16th – 28th February 2026 — sharing real stories that show what hospice care truly means.

One of those stories is Harriet’s.

When Harriet and her family arrived at Cransley Hospice, they were carrying fear, uncertainty, and heartbreak. What they found was more than expert medical care. They found kindness. Dignity. Space to breathe. They found comfort in the most unexpected ways — and, within the hardest days of their lives, they found moments they will always treasure.

Harriet told us:

“Cransley is the type of place you can run into on a Sunday morning in your wellies in a sheer panic that ‘it’s time’, only to fall into a nurse’s arms in tears and be calmed down within seconds.

It’s the sort of place that you can walk around, make yourself a tea, microwave your dinner without anyone questioning why you’re there or ever feeling like you’ve outstayed your welcome.

Cransley Hospice was my home for nine days, and a place I actually missed when it was mum’s time to leave. It was our shelter from the storm.

I know if I could give someone else the gift of hospice care that we were given, I wouldn’t hesitate. It doesn’t need to be thousands of pounds; every donation makes an impact.”

These precious experiences are only possible because of the generosity of supporters like you.

Gifts left in Wills currently contribute around 20% of our income, helping to ensure that families across North Northamptonshire continue to receive compassionate end-of-life care, emotional and practical support, and the comfort of knowing they are not alone.

By choosing to leave a gift in your Will, you are helping to create future moments for families like Harriet’s. Your legacy could help us:

  • Continue providing specialist end-of-life care for patients and those who love them
  • Ensure emotional, social and practical support is available when it matters most
  • Protect hospice care for future generations in our community

Leaving a gift in your Will is simple and does not cost you anything today. It is a deeply personal decision — one rooted in love, care and hope for the future.

That is why we offer a free Will-writing service in partnership with Tollers Solicitors and MakeAWillOnline.co.uk, making the process accessible and straightforward for anyone considering leaving a gift to the hospice.
