Why volunteering at Cransley Hospice is good for your wellbeing

Boost your wellbeing and make a difference in your local community

Volunteering at Cransley Hospice Trust is about so much more than giving your time. It is about feeling good, staying connected, and being part of a team that really cares. Whether helping out in our fundraising office, lending a hand in our retail shops, or getting involved out in the community, our volunteers come from all walks of life. Some join us to give back, others want to make new friends or stay busy after retirement, but everyone shares a common goal; helping us care for local people when they need it most.

We often hear from our team about how much volunteering boosts their own health and happiness. It gives people a real sense of purpose, builds confidence, and keeps them active. While supporting a cause you care about is wonderful, the extra perks, like learning new things, meeting great people, and feeling part of the local community are a huge bonus.

With over 100 dedicated volunteers, we simply could not do what we do without them. They bring so much energy, skill, and warmth to hospice care, saving us time and vital funds so we can focus on raising more vital funds for patients and families.

Mel, one of our office volunteers shared:

I love being able to use skills from past jobs to bring value to the trust.”

For Cyril, volunteering provided that “vital sense of purpose after retiring”

And Ros, our Volunteer Coordinator shared:

For me it’s the simple joy of the social side, chatting with the team in the office gives me a positive lift.

You can find more information and updates about our current volunteers in our Volunteer Zone.
